This guy is really pumped about Xactos...
But he has some good points. The only thing I would disagree with him on is cutting into the corner. I would advise the "over-cutting" I mentioned in class. Something else that might be helpful when cutting your squares is cutting them out larger and then drawing your square using pencil on the BACK. That way you have a visible line to follow when cutting.
