This is a self -portrait of Chuck Close. He is an American painter. The title of this piece is called "Big Self-Portrait" and was painted between 1967 and 1968. He is a photorealist, or super-realism painter. I really like his work a lot. It amazes me how real his paintings look.
i really love Chuck Close's work, he had an exhibit in atlanta not too long ago and i went and saw it and was amazed at his technique. to overcome his physical limitations and still be able to produce such work is amazing. his photorealistic images through the use of tiny dots is both baffling and astounding at the same time.
