I feel the artist of this piece did an outstanding job conveying the concept of 'texture' with this photograph he/she (the artists' name is: Michoacan) took of an object, that's said to be an "Element of Mexican Design (#4). To me, it's as though this could be a photo, painting, or drawing, and even though it's a 2-D image, I still feel the edges, points, and "pyramidy" surface, just by looking at it...Image if it was a 3-D image, and what it could feel like to you if you closed your eyes and ran your hand of the object...
