Sunflower Seeds, 2010 by Ai Weiwei

This installation is composed of one-hundred million porcelain sunflower seeds. I find this interesting just for the sheer size of it all and intricacy of each seed. This piece was meant to comment on the stride and inequality pitched against farmers and land workers. The funny thing is that people were allowed to walk and play in the seeds until many began to die from exposure to the porcelain dust. Was this a part of Weiwei's plan? Who knows.
